Race information:
This exciting mountain bike relay event is one race you don't want to miss out on... It will be 12 and 6 hours of non-stop mountain biking action! Kick back with other mountain bikers in a very social atmosphere. Race as hard as you want, be competitive, be relaxed but whatever, just come and enjoy some great mountain biking. You can choose from either the 12 hour day / nighter (10am-10pm) or the 6 hour blast (10am-4pm). You can enter either event in a team (there are heaps of categories to choose from - see website for full details) or for those wanting the ultimate challenge, as a solo rider.
Venue:
McLeans Forest Park, McLeans Island Road, Christchurch.
The entrance to the venue area is approx 1km before/after (depending on which direction you are driving from) the main entrance to McLeans Forest Park. It will be well signposted on race day.
Course:
The mountain bike track at McLeans Forest Park is purpose built and features free flowing single track with bermed corners making for superb smooth riding. The track follows the natural terrain of the area, winding through the forest, and up, over and along the stop banks. There are no major hills but plenty of undulating riding. On race day we will mix up the single track with 4WD tracks so there will be plenty of places for passing. This is a great course and suitable for all levels of mountain bikers.
Entry:
2011 entries will open in May - send us your email address and we'll email you directly when entries open.
